1.65 million visited Cape Hatteras National Seashore in first half of 2023

The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, has released a new semiannual statistical report on the number of tourists visiting Cape Hatteras National Seashore for the first half of 2023, revealing another bustling year for the resort.

CHNS recorded 67,735 visitors in January, 81,607 visitors in February, 147,925 visitors in March, 228,766 visitors in April, 248,371 visitors in May, 417,968 visitors in June, and 456,340 visitors in July; totaling to 1,648,712 visitors recorded from January to July.

This year’s total is higher than 2022, which had 1,631,665 visitors in the first half. In 2021, during the COVID19 pandemic, the resort saw a record-breaking number of visitors, with a total of 2,862,844.
