Avon Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest and Seizure
Dare County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a passenger having an outstanding arrest warrant during a traffic stop in Avon.
Search Leads to Drug Paraphernalia and Methamphetamine Seizure
On October 21, around 11:15 p.m., Dare County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop near N.C. Highway 12 and ORV Ramp 34 in Avon. Deputies searched the vehicle and found drug paraphernalia they seized as evidence.
The passenger, identified as Annie M. Clever, 28, of Frisco, NC, was arrested and placed in a patrol car. After removing Clever from the vehicle for a more thorough search, deputies discovered methamphetamine in her possession.
Charges and Arrest Details
Authorities charged Clever with Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and served her with a Misdemeanor Failure to Appear Warrant from Camden, NC. They issued a $500 secured bond for the warrant and are holding Clever on the felony drug charge.
