Ocracoke Health Center To Host 3rd Seafood Festival Benefit
The Ocracoke Health Center is set to host its third annual Seafood Festival Benefit on Saturday, August 31.
This event will feature live music, silent and live auctions, family-friendly games, and an abundance of local seafood.
The festival will be held at the Berkley Barn, located at 58 Water Plant Road in Ocracoke Village. Festivities kick off at 2:00 p.m. with games and a silent auction, which will run until 5:00 p.m. Food service begins at 3:00 p.m. and continues until 5:00 p.m. The live auction starts at 6:00 p.m., followed by a performance from the Ray McAllister Band at 7:00 p.m.
All proceeds from the festival will benefit the Ocracoke Health Center, a community-owned and operated non-profit organization. The center, which holds a 501(c)(3) designation, merged with the Engelhard Clinic on the mainland a few years ago to become a federally qualified health center. Despite receiving federal funding, the center still relies on events like this to cover its expenses.
For those unable to attend, donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 543, Ocracoke, NC 27960.
