Dare County Emergency Management has issued a notice to non-resident property and business owners to get their reentry permits for the year 2024.

Non-residents are required to present a valid permit and matching ID after mandatory evacuations. They expire at the end of the calendar year. Individuals with last year permits, excluding certain business owners, need to apply for a new one for the current year.

Permits are obtainable through PDFs via email after applying through Dare County’s online system online at https://DareNC.gov/Reentry

Dare County residents can also apply for a permit, but an ID is sufficient for those with a valid Dare County address.
