Wright Brothers’ Wright Flyer’s 120th anniversary
The Wright Brothers National Memorial will commemorate the 120th anniversary of Wilbur and Orville Wright’s historic invention of the first airplane on 7th December, 2023.
Joining the Wright Brothers National Memorial in the celebrations will be the First Flight Society and Outer Banks Forever.
The anniversary event will feature speeches from David Hallac, superintendent of National Parks of Eastern North Carolina; Mike Fonseca, president of First Flight Society; David True, lead interpretive ranger of Wright Brothers National Memorial; C. K. Lee, president of American Bonanza Society.
Park entrance fees will be waived on the event day. Ranger-led educational programs are scheduled for 1 PM and 3 PM. The park will remain open until 5 PM.
Outer Banks Forever will livestream the entire event on December 17th.
