Coastal Flooding Expected in Outer Banks

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for Outer Banks. High tides expected from this weekend to early next week.

High tides will occur around 11 a.m. on Saturday, with the highest impact predicted for noon on Sunday. Flooding issues could continue into Monday.

Minor to moderate flooding is expected in oceanside areas, especially along Highway 12. Vulnerable spots such as the north end of Ocracoke Island, the north end of Buxton near the Outer Banks Motel, and Pea Island Visitor Center may experience localized ocean overwash. Additionally, minor flooding is forecast along Pamlico Sound.
