Hatteras Island Retreat: Little Pink Houses of Hope

Nine families will travel to Hatteras Island on May 12 for the Little Pink Houses of Hope retreat.

The nonprofit organization provides week-long vacations at no cost to breast cancer patients and their families, offering them a chance to relax, reconnect, and celebrate life.

Hatteras Island has hosted more than nine families as part of this program for over 13 years. All activities and services are free, allowing families to focus on spending quality time together.

Throughout the week, families will enjoy paddleboarding, ceramic painting, and a soundside evening cruise. Generous sponsors like Koru Village, Ocean Cure, Sun Realty, and Slash Creek Outfitters make these activities possible.

Jeanine Patten-Coble founded the Little Pink Houses of Hope. She is a 15-year breast cancer survivor. She launched the organization after her 2009 diagnosis while visiting Hatteras Island, realizing the need for support services for families of survivors.
