Transitioning from Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative in 2019, his dedication is unparalleled. Fountain’s coaching philosophy prioritizes academics and instills values beyond the game. He led teams to championships, navigating challenges like small rosters and the pandemic. Community support was unwavering; “Every year, the gym was packed,” Fountain recalls.
Looking ahead, he entrusts assistant coach Randy Ratliff to continue his legacy. Ratliff acknowledges Fountain’s dedication, saying, “We can never thank him enough.”
Former player Kristian Head recalls the bond they shared, saying, “Earl’s contributions are truly remarkable.” Athletic Director Woody Willis reflects, “It has been an honor.”
