Cape Hatteras National Seashore Educational Programs extended till 11th November, 2023
Seasonal educational programs at the Cape Hatteras National Seashore (CHNS) are to be extended till 11th November, 2023.
The seasonal educational programs feature talks and presentations on unique aspects of the Hatteras Island’s history, free and open to for the public to participate.
The schedule is as follows;
Bodie Island Educational Program
The Bodie Island Lighthouse – Lighting the Way for 150 Years
- Timings: Mondays and Thursdays, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, through 4th November.
- Location: Back porch of Keeper’s Quarters.
Hatteras Island Educational Program
The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse – Lighting the Way for Over 150 Years
- Timings: Monday to Friday, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
- Location: Hatteras Island Visitor Center Pavilion
Totally Turtles
- Timings: Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 2:30 to 3:00 PM.
- Location: Hatteras Island Visitor Center Pavilion
- Details: Educational course on sea turtles, conducted through interactive games and activities.

Additionally, until 11th November, the Ocracoke Lighthouse will remain open from Thursday to Saturday, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
The Ocracoke Island Discovery Center will remain open from Thursday to Saturday, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, for the same period.
